Michael Peters is in his third and final year as High School Technology Integration Specialist at Colegio Americano de Guatemala (The American School of Guatemala), where he spends most of his time training colleagues and helping them integrate technology effectively into their classrooms.

In August 2012, he will be moving to the Czech Rebublic to take on a challenging new position as Upper School Information Technology Specialist at the International School of Prague.
Prior to his international career, he was an elementary teacher with the Durham District School Board just outside of Toronto, Ontario Canada.

It was working with the Durham Board where Michael first established himself as a technology integration leader with innovative classroom activities and delivering technology training board-wide. In Canada he has been nominated for teaching awards at the district, provincial, and national level, including the National Technology Innovation Awards in 2006.

Cindy Brock is a Technology Coach for 1st-3rd grades at Presbyterian Day School (PDS) in Memphis, TN. PDS is an all boys' school serving PreK-6th grades. As a Technology Coach, she assist teachers by helping integrate technology with their curriculum as well as teaching the lessons to students using the laptop cart in their classroom. She began her education career teaching Kindergarten in Shelby County Schools for 4 years, serving as a Curriculum Technology Specialist for Shelby County Schools for 6 years, and working as a Technology Coach at PDS for the past 5 years. She considers herself a lifelong learner and is always searching for new ideas and ways to utilize the technology she has in her school.

Jacqui Murray is a K-8 technology teacher at a small private school in Southern California. She has taught here for nine years, after teaching at the community college level for twenty years while managing a variety of businesses.

She is the author of eight textbooks on integrating technology into the elementary and middle school classroom, the webmaster for a tech tip blog called Ask a Tech Teacher and a thrice-weekly tech contributor to the internet newspaper, Examiner.com. Currently, she’s working on an ebook called How to Not Hate Your Computer.

She lives with her husband and two Labradors, and spends as much time as possible with her two adult children.

Michael Parrales

Michael is currently working as IT Director at the American Nicaraguan School; a school serving an international population of almost 1000 students. He formerly worked for almost 7 years as CTO at Country Day School in Costa Rica. Also, he has been a consultant in different technologies for many other schools.

His job has always been characterized for developing and maintaining strong technology platforms that promote 21st Century Education, strongly support technology integration in the classrooms, and develop cost effective technology plans that incorporate innovative state of the art technology in education.

He strongly believes that technology must be a resource that facilitates, leads and foster 21st century learning. Also, that technology must create opportunities for students to think critically, work collaboratively, and make appropriate choices in academic environments that improve their ability to learn in creative and innovative ways.

Away from the school, Michael loves to spend his spare time with his wife and their little dog, do sports, specially running and swimming, and also play the electric guitar.

Sandra Wozniak, NJ Middle Level Educator 2010, retired in 2010 after teaching in the Mt. Olive Middle School for 33 years. 

She has also worked as a trainer in Analytic Processes for School Leaders with the nonprofit TregoED organization to help develop an online tool that will bring the benefits of these critical thinking processes to the classroom.

Sandra has participated in many long term district initiatives to develop technology-rich Problem Based Learning Units, Professional Learning Communities and bring Analytic Processes to all levels of the district.

She has written and implemented curriculum for mini-courses in Robotics, 21st Century Skills, Decision Analysis, Technology, Science and Web 2.0 tools.   Sandra currently works as a Director of Curriculum and is on the board of the NJ Middle School Association. 

She was recognized in 2011 as one of ISTE’s top Ning Contributors.  She has presented at the National Middle Schools Annual Conference 2009, 2010, 2011, NECC 09, ISTE 2011, National Council for Social Studies 2009, 2010, 2011, NJEA Convention, FETC 2010, 2012, VSTE among other professional development opportunities.

Ary Aranguizwas born to teach! She has been a middle and high school gifted and advanced English/language arts teacher for the past twenty years and finds no greater happiness than to see her students succeed. She believes every child is gifted in their own way, and students need to be challenged to think!

 

She graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in English Literature and a minor in Education. She has had extensive training in reading, and writing strategies as well in helping parents and students manage unique learning challenges. She is also a National Board Certified Teacher in Young Adolescence Language Arts. She has earned recognition from the National Council Teachers of English for producing a middle school literary magazine which earned highest honors.

 

Her students have participated in national contests integrating literature and technology winning second and third places in the nation for the Pro Quest Pod Casting competition. Mrs. Aranguiz is the founder and director of First Class Tutoring specializing in middle grades, high school and SAT or ACT Reading and Writing Preparation, and FearlessTech4Teachers, an education consulting service where she coaches teachers to integrate tech in the classroom.

 

Mrs. Aranguiz enjoys writing language arts curriculum that is creative and interdisciplinary in scope, integrating technology and considering multiple intelligences. She believes in a student-centered classroom with the teacher as a coach enabling students to discover and reach their potential and their natural desire to learn.
