WeMuv - A Fun Online Community for Schools, Camps & Active Kids Programs
As part of a new feature here on Technology Integration in Education, I have asked interested vendors to supply our members with a free trial of one of their offerings. In exchange for the free trial, it is my hope that we could build a dialog around what works and what does not work for us educators and what that vendor could do to improve their offering in order for us to reach every student. Please remember to come back and offer constructive comments after testing the product.
WeMuv - A Fun Online Community for Schools, Camps & Active Kids Programs
Description:
Keeping kids active today can be a REAL challenge! In the era of personal gadgets, social networks, and online media...EVERY "STEP" COUNTS.
WeMuv (pronounced We Move) is a new program that leverages technology to get kids active. Created for schools and kids' groups, the program is designed to encourage a balance between physical and sedentary activities, while offering fun competition, online games and educational content. Using a special ‘encrypted’ WeMuv pedometer, members have access to an online community to record steps to earn rewards and unlock FUN.
Members simply strap on a WeMuv pedometer each day and then login to:
Create and customize avatars and earn points from steps uploaded
Setup and manage teams online for inter and intra-school classroom competitions
Track individual and team steps using real-time leaderboards
Unlock fun games and virtual world destinations to explore in a multi-player environment
Join races, earn rewards, win prizes and have fun interacting, playing and learning online
WeMuv also offers educator support materials for Daily Physical Activity curriculum and program fundraising. More than 30,000 teachers and kids across Canada have already tested WeMuv and, they love it.
A FREE WeMuv pedometer and 1-year membership are available to the first 10 TIE members who contact us. Please contact Lisa Savelli on TIE LinkedIn or directly at lsavelli@wemuv.com.
Thank you.
